The founder and artistic director of ACW Dances, Abigail’s work has been produced around the globe, including Gifu, Japan, as part of Beyond the Threshold: Seattle International Dance Festival, Seattle, WA, Greensboro, NC, and Boulder, CO. She danced in two Kennedy Center Millennium Stage productions, one as part of as part of Daniel Burkholder’s The Playground and the other as ensemble with Dance Exchange in a re-staged Liz Lerman work Still Crossing. She often investigates behavior through highly athletic choreography, revealing human interactions in space and time. She earned her MFA in Dance in 2009. She revels in the everyday absurd.
A dancer, yoga teacher and stay-at-home mom, Paula is a 200 RYT and is certified to teach prenatal yoga. Paula teaches and practices yoga at various studios around northern Virginia and has been a company member of CCP Dance Company since 2007. Paula holds a Masters of Education degree from the University of Minnesota. She trained in Bartenieff Fundamentals and Laban Movement Analysis and has worked with many choreographers and dance companies in Minneapolis, NYC, Norfolk, and DC. Currently, she is the artistic director of two tiny humans who continuously keep changing the music and keep her on her toes. She joined ACW Dances in the fall of 2013.
From Methuen, MA, Rachel began training in ballet, tap, and jazz at a young age. She moved to DC in 2010 to attend the George Washington University where she earned a B.A. in Dance and minored in Chinese and Anthropology. Rachel loves site-specific dance exploring interactions between movement, nature, and sculpture. This is Rachel’s fourth season with ACW Dances.
