is the founder and artistic director of ACW Dances. Her work has been produced around the globe, including Gifu, Japan, as part of Beyond the Threshold: Seattle International Dance Festival, Seattle, WA, Greensboro, NC, and Boulder, CO. Recently she danced as part of Daniel Burkholder’s The Playground in a Kennedy Center Millennium Stage production. She often investigates behavior through highly athletic choreography, revealing human interactions in space and time. She earned her MFA in Dance in 2009. She revels in the everyday absurd.



is a dancer, yoga teacher and stay-at-home mom. She is a 200 RYT and is certified to teach prenatal yoga. Paula teaches and practices yoga at various studios around northern Virginia and has been a company member of CCP Dance Company since 2007. Paula holds a Masters of Education degree from the University of Minnesota. She trained in Bartenieff Fundamentals and Laban Movement Analysis and has worked with many choreographers and dance companies in Minneapolis, NYC, Norfolk, and DC. Currently, she is the artistic director of two tiny humans who continuously keep changing the music and keep her on her toes. She joined ACW Dances in the fall of 2013.

Adjunct Artists:

Rachel Zappala is from Methuen, MA, and began training in ballet, tap, and jazz at a young age. Rachel moved to DC in 2010 to attend the George Washington University where she earned a B.A. in Dance and minored in Chinese and Anthropology. Rachel loves site-specific dance exploring interactions between movement, nature, and sculpture. This is Rachel’s third season with ACW Dances.

Katherine LiPuma, known in the dance community as, “Puma,” is originally from West Windsor, New Jersey. Puma holds a B.A. in Dance from Shenandoah University. She has danced with a wide variety of artists in the DMV such as Kyoko Ruch, Ayelet Haran, Next Reflex Dance Collective and Alight Dance Theatre. Puma is excited to be back for her second season with ACW Dances.

Cameron Estes grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and recently relocated to northern VA. She graduated from Western Carolina University with a B.A. in Classics and a minor in dance. She has competed with and taught nationally competitive color guard and winter guard groups, such as Spirit of Atlanta and First Flight World. This is her first season with ACW Dances.

Samantha Sobash is a performer, choreographer, and arts manager based in D.C. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Chapman University and a MA in Arts Management from American University. Originally from San Diego, Samantha has performed locally with ACW Dances, Glade Dance Collective, and DancEthos. She aims to create more opportunities for artists to collaborate internationally.
