MARK CHARLES SMITH

Composer and guitarist Mark Charles Smith is a native of Greensboro, NC.  His compositions have been performed in diverse venues in nine states, including the 2011 Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, and the Lincoln Center.  Mark has a Master’s Degree in Musicology from the University of Colorado-Boulder.  During his time in Colorado, he founded and directed the Boulder Guitar Orchestra.  Mark is currently instructor of composition at Guilford College, and also teaches private guitar and piano lessons in Greensboro.  He performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician.  His most recent work, Triptych, is a guitar trio written in collaboration with luthier Jeremy Clark, who designed and built three guitars specifically for the work’s performance.  He is currently collaborating with choreographer Abigail Wallace on many works, including a multimedia piece incorporating data from NASA’s Mars Curiosity Rover.  For more about Mark, please visit his website.

CLARA ZIMMERMAN WALLACE

Clara Wallace graduated from the University of Evansville in May 2013, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Management (Vocal emphasis) with a Business Administration minor.  In Evansville, she served as Stage Manager and Operations Intern with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.  Directly after graduation, she spent the summer working in Aspen, Colorado as an Artist Liaison with the Aspen Music Festival and School.  She recently moved to the DC Metro area to pursue her career as Artistic Coordinator for the National Symphony Orchestra.  She sings as often as possible.

SOPHIA LEWIN ADAMS

Sophia Lewin Adams is a DC-based freelance Stage Manager and Production Assistant. Recent credits: Midwestern Gothic, Silver Belles, The Gulf, and The Flick at Signature Theatre; Moxie! with Happenstance Theatre; and Blackberry Winter at Forum Theatre. She graduated from the University of Maryland.
